David Murray has often been described as the greatest Tenor player in
the world today. He has phenomenal ability and has enjoyed success both
in his own right and with the World Saxophone Quartet, making him one
of the best selling Jazz Musicians around.
David Murray won a Grammy in 1989 for his John Coltrane tribute album "Blues
For Coltrane" and the following year played on Silvershine, Andy
Hamilton's first album. He is certainly a name to watch out for. When
he appeared with Hal Singer and Andy Hamilton & the Blue Notes
at Corks Club in September 2006 it was one of the best gigs we've ever
had
with an atmosphere David Murray compared with New York.
